All Change!!!

Yes you are on the right BLOG for those of you who visit on a regular basis.

Fancied a bit of a change!!!

After Church

This week After Church will be in the Upper Room.

The reason for this is that we now have a pool table that we can use, and an area we can sit and chat, at the moment it is a bit small. Hopefully in the not to distant future we will have better seating and music.

This room is slowly becoming an area that is not filled with peoples cast offs. (Watch this space, Oh and the space upstairs).

Hopefully we can encourage those that come on a Sunday Evening to stay for a while after the service, with the attraction of a top quality pool table.

Remember this Saturday is "Gallery Day" for R+L trip to Uganda.

Maybe we can run a pool competition on a Sunday over the next few weeks leading up to Christmas (just an idea, Trophy for the winner or mince pie what ever you would prefer), let me know.

Cant think of anything else other than it would be good if others would post things on the Blog now and then, dosen't matter if its not related to CECYM, good news like the bit from Robbie is always good to hear.

Later!

Music Video Night!

Well, all the votes that I had in have been counted, recounted and verified, and it looks like we're going to make a music video this coming Saturday, with the cheese factor going to the max. No song has been chosen yet, but a few have been floating around.

  • Amarillo
  • Bicycle song by Queen
  • The Eye of the Tiger
  • The Earth song by Michael Jackson

I'm sure you can think of many more, but we need really cheesy costumes and props for whatever video we make, so get searching for stuff to bring on Saturday night. Remember its 7:30pm at the church, hope to see you all there, I know I'm certainly extremely excited, but then I'm excited by mathematical equations and the prospect of seeing my mum in action in teacher mode. Lol!

Make a film night

Just to remind everyone that we will be making a film on the evening of Saturday 24th November at 7:30 as part of the Saturday Night Social still no name yet thing. We will be deciding this Sunday what type of film we can make so we can spend the week getting together any required costumes and props etc.

So far, the shortlist includes:
  • X-Factor spoof (with Malc as the nasty Simon Cowell)
  • Copy of a classic film such as James Bond or Star Wars etc.
  • Make your own Music video
  • An entirely original and so far mysterious drama

The film will hopefully be shown during Love Russia 2008, so if you want a quality production add your ideas and comments on the end of this blog, there is still time for the shortlist to grow longer, if that's possible for a shortlist. Anyway, many thanks go to Pete Mercer who is cautiously lending us his digital video camera and Robbie who has agreed to edit the film. See you all at the weekend (Remember the auction!) and get those thinking caps on!

Evening on to the week

Just wanna thank Tim for a superb devotional this evening (If he ever reads this loL!) - really made me think anyway, about Time Management and all the rubbish i could stop doing and what I need to focus on - dont know what others thought.

Auction day is not long away now - we have alot of items now, and I hope that since we are all supposed to be supporting Rach and Lisbeth since this is a fund raising event for them, and since they are part of the group, as Malc said, then it would be great to see everyone there - although Tim and Marianne have already said they can't go, so they will be missed, and Malc may not be there either (SHOCK HORROR) - apparently there is a Live show of the X FACTOR he needs to judge lol!!!!!!! :P

Only kidding Malc!!!

Take Care all, and have a nice week,

Auction Evening

Well, the Auction Evening is nearly upon us.

We are slowly (emphasise that) getting items in, but still no where near enough. We have got some really good items, which should bring in some dosh, but we need more.

So can I ask that people who are part of the After Church group get searching for stuff, so that we can put it all on the auction - we need it asap, since we need to update our auction database.

Im probably going to do some posters for the church, Malc, I know that you managed to do that A3 ones in the church, so can i pass them onto you to print off???

Thanks,

R

After the Meeting

Just to confirm with everyone -

I am running Saturday Evening, which is a games evening at the church. The games we will play -

Table Tennis (Around the Table), Volleyball (if pos), Air Hockey(if pos), Dodgeball, and Hide and Seek.

I will try to structure the evening at an even time for each of the activities. Malc, could u let me know the time of the evening.

Also, if for the evening you could all bring a torch so that when we do hide and seek, you can all see where u r going, although we can try to make the church less cluttered so that people dont trip over things.

I assume that the start is 7.30/8.00, so if people could get there early to help setup.

Also, do we need a bit of food (pizza or chips) or is that too much???? Should the tuck suffice? Malc, since u r the overall leader, can you make that decision.

Think thats all,

See you Saturday.

Super Extravaganza!

The Quiz night was a great evening, 90 people came making up 12 teams, all enjoyed a jacket potato with a filling of their choosing. Rachel and Elisabeth told why, when and how long they would be going to Uganda. The winning team for the evening was a team from Kings Church in Southsea "Sam's Team" pipping "Assorted Goodies" from Cowplain by a count back. Watch this space as another Quiz evening is on the cards for the early part of 2008, this time with a curry! This will be Evangelistic and not fund raising. Can you spot yourself in the photo?

Quiz Night Success

Defiantely though the Quiz Night was successful. I mean - I think the £430 that was raised is definately a result considering we got to a point when we didnt think there would be anyone!!!

Well done everyone -

Oh, and if people could find stuff for the auction and either let the girls or myself know caus its only 2 weeks.
